DYNOSTAR for Windows was written with the user in mind. No effort was spared to make the program easy to use and to provide an intuitive way to organize and present the measured data in a concise way. DYNOSTAR minimizes the effort and time required to make field measurements.
DYNOSTAR has a unique visual interface that makes taking and displaying the data very easy.
The measurement session
DYNOSTAR uses the concept of measurement sessions. A measurement session can consist of measurements of one or more dynamometer cards, a dynamometer card trace, counterbalance effect (CBE), motor amp plot, and up to two sets of valve checks. A session does not have to include all the above measurements. For example, a session can include two dynamometer cards, a dynamometer card trace, and a CBE. Another session may only have a single dynamometer card, etc.
Each measurement session for the same well is saved in a single well file that contains all measurement sessions for the well. This makes it easy to manage your data. DYNOSTAR prints a single page report for each session that shows all measurements in an organized way
Summary of DYNOSTAR Features
- Guides you through each new measurement session using a "Measurement Wizard" interface that reduces errors and simplifies the data aquisition process.
- Allows you to setup the program with your choice of valve check duration and number of measured dynamometer card points.
- Saves all measurement sessions for a well in a single well file. This means only one file for a well is ever needed. Each measurement session can store multiple cards, two valve checks measurements, an amp plot, and the current counterbalance effect.
- Prints a single-page report that includes a composite plot of all dynamometer cards measured, a dynamometer card trace (showing how the dynamometer card shape changes over time), amp plot, valve checks, valve loads and valve leakage rates.
- Dynamometer files can be exported for use in RODDIAG and XDIAG.
- Can display a summary page for all measurements, or individual pages for each measured item.
- After valve checks are measured, DYNOSTAR automatically calculates the average traveling and standing valve loads and leakage rates.
- Overlays all measured dynamometer cards on one plot. User can easily select to see one or more cards plotted together or by themselves.
- Measurement session list shows miniature picture of last dynamometer card measured along with date an time for easier recognition.
- Has a user friendly Windows interface with easy-to-understand toolbar and menu bar.
- Works on all computers that run Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, or XP.
- Allows you to calibrate the load and position transducers yourself.
- Saves the load zero value so that you don't have to re-zero the load cell before each measurement session.
No Remote Control Cable Needed
The load versus time measurement of traveling and standing valve loads eliminate the need for the remote cable or the keyboard action necessary to take valve checks.

Computer System Requirements
Following are the minimum system requirements for DYNOSTAR:
- Pentium 200MHZ
- A graphics adapter and monitor supporting one of the following: VGA, SuperVGA, or XGA graphics standards.
- A 3½" (1.44Mb) disk drive.
- Windows 95 or later
- A hard disk with 3Mb of free disk space.
- Four megabytes of available memory.
- A Microsoft or compatible mouse.
- Eight megabytes of available memory.
