RODSTAR, RODDIAG, and CBALANCE Training DVDs Now Available
Theta Enterprises released three training DVDs last month. These DVDs provide
step by step training using video of the computer screen with simultaneous narration
by John Svinos. The CBALANCE Training DVD also includes a presentation on how
to perform the Seven-Step Optimization process that is normally taught by John
Svinos in the Rod Pumping Optimization course.

Contents of the RODSTAR Training DVD:
Understanding the RODSTAR user Interface, entering data for a new case,
changing data and rerunning the program, etc.
- How to use the powerful help system in RODSTAR to answer questions you
may have regarding inputs or outputs.
- How to get context sensitive help, and a lot more.
- How to use the Setup option of RODSTAR to customize the program for your
field: How to enter custom rod grades and pumping unit data, how to enter
rod and pumping unit cost information, specifying what items to include in
the spreadsheet created when running the program in batch, etc.
- Everything you wanted to know about how to run RODSTAR in batch mode to
automatically create a summary spreadsheet that summarizes the results of
several runs. How to create and save the RODSTAR files, how to start the batch,
how to load the spreadsheet file into MS Excel, etc.
- How to change the system of units RODSTAR uses, how to enter data in different
units, etc.
- How to load RODDIAG or XDIAG files into RODSTAR and how to history match
the results. Learn how to get the predicted cards to match with measured cards.
Find out how to decide what variables to change for Group 1 or Group 2 wells
to get a good match. Also, find out why in many cases you may not be able
to get a good match between the predicted and measured dynamometer cards.
Contents of the RODDIAG Training DVD:
- Understanding the RODDIAG user Interface, entering data for a new case,
changing data and running the program.
- How to use the powerful help system in RODDIAG to answer questions you may
have regarding inputs or outputs.
- How to get context sensitive help, and a lot more.
- How to use the Setup option of RODDIAG to customize the program for your
field: How to enter custom rod grades and pumping unit data, how to enter
rod and pumping unit cost information, specifying what items to include in
the spreadsheet created when running the program in batch, etc.
- Everything you wanted to know about how to run RODDIAG in batch mode to
automatically create a summary spreadsheet that summarizes the results of
several runs. How to create and save the RODDIAG files, how to start the batch,
how to load the spreadsheet file into MS Excel, etc.
- How to change the system of units RODDIAG uses, how to enter data in different
units, etc.
- How to load RODDIAG files into RODSTAR and how to history match the results.
- How to set horizontal and vertical lines on the downhole pump card to calculate
fluid load, fluid level, net stroke and pump production.
- How to detect input data errors such as a load cell that reads too high
or low, etc.
Contents of the CBALANCE Training DVD:
- Understanding the CBALANCE user Interface, entering data for a new case,
changing data and running the program.
- How to use the help system in CBALANCE to get context sensitive help, and
how to use the Setup option of CBALANCE to customize the program for your
application.
- Everything you wanted to know about how to export data from CBALANCE to
RODDIAG, XDIAG, or RODSTAR.
- How to export the balanced maximum counterbalance moment calculated by RODDIAG,
XDIAG, or RODSTAR to CBALANCE.
- How to import the balanced maximum counterbalance moment into CBALANCE
and how to use the program results to balance your pumping units.
Bonus Presentation: The Seven Step Optimization Process
- Learn how to use CBALANCE, RODDIAG or XDIAG, and RODSTAR in an organized
and logical way to troubleshoot and redesign your rod pumping systems. This
seven step process was developed by John Svinos and up to now was only taught
in the Rod Pumping Optimization course.
