This new dynamometer system is the first piece of hardware developed by Theta Enterprises, Inc.
The T1 dynamometer system has many advantages and some unique features that make it very easy to use and service.
Our goals in developing this new system included ease of use, lower cost, extremely high measurement accuracy, and ease of service. We have accomplished all these goals with the T1 Dyno.
The T1 Dyno uses a very accurate and very well made load cell that can take a lot of abuse and still work accurately. Also, it uses a very robust and accurate position transducer that can measure stroke lengths of up to 350 inches.
The unit is powered by a rechargeable battery that eliminates the need for an additional power cable. By having an extra fully charged battery with you, you will never run out of power.
The T1 Dyno can be used either with a quantitative ‘horseshoe" style load cell, or with a qualitative clamp on load cell. When you use the horseshoe load cell, you install the load cell first. Then you can attach the rest of the system (the position transducer and electronics box) to the load cell by sliding the vertical handle extension of the load cell into the slot in the back of the system. This keeps everything together and then, only short cables are required to connect the load and position transducers to the electronics box.
Once the system is installed this way on the polished rod, then only a single long cable is needed to connect the system to a laptop computer running DYNOSTAR.
Another option is to put the system on the ground in a specially designed stand and connect the load cell to the electronics box with a longer cable. Also, this is the configuration used when the clamp-on load cell is used.
The stand has legs that are designed to keep the system away from any water or oil that may be on the ground next to the well head.
We also provide an amp probe that connects to the system for motor amp plots.
The T1 Dyno system feeds data into the DYNOSTAR program which, as many of you know, is a 32 bit windows program that is very easy to use. DYNOSTAR organizes your data and exports dynamometer files for use with RODDIAG or XDIAG. DYNOSTAR allows you to record all your field measurements in a single file per well.
Each file is subdivided into measurement sessions. Each measurement session consists of one or more dynamometer cards, dynamometer card trace, counterbalance effect, amp plot, and valve checks.
Regardless of the number of measurement sessions you make, or the number of dynamometer cards you record, all measurements go in one file per well. This allows you to easily organize your data and keep a historical record of all measurements you make for each rod pumping system.
