Linear Actuator Versus Beam Pumps
This Podcast describes the differences between traditional beam pumping systems and a new pumping system that uses a Linear Actuator for lifting the rods. This new system is less massive than comparable walking beam units and can be mounted directly to the well head. Also, linear pumping units provide independent control of upstroke and downstroke peak velocities as well as the shape of the velocity profile.
