ROD PUMPING OPTIMIZATION CLASS - FILE DOWNLOAD

If you will be attending a Rod Pumping Optimization Class, you might wish to pre-install the programs and examples onto your laptop before you arrive.

It is strongly recommended that the installations be done before arriving at class. This will ensure that everything is working and that valuable class time is not taken up with installations.

Some IT departments require approval before software is loaded to user PC's. Theta Oilfield Services is providing the software here so this can be taken care of ahead of time by having IT load your software or approve it.

Once installed, you will be able to run the programs, but a message will display saying that "Your Sentinel does not appear to be connected". At the class you will be provided with a Sentinel bitlock that attaches to either a USB port or the parallel printer port on your laptop. This will enable the programs to be accessed.

Important Note: A USB Port or Parallel Printer Port is required on the laptop that you bring to class. A licensing bitlock will be provided that plugs into the port.

When you click the download link below , you will be presented with a page requesting your Download ID and Password. Use the one that you received in your class confirmation e-mail.
Download the Installation File

The download consists of a single large Zipped file "RPOSchool_CD_automated.zip" (180MB).

It is recommended that you create a folder on your hard drive named "C:\RPO Install" so that you can save the downloaded zip file to that folder rather than to your desktop.

Once you have downloaded the zip file, then navigate to the folder and Unzip it into the folder. It will expand into several files and sub-folders.

To start the Installation program, double click on the file: "RPOSchool_Install.exe"

This will install the following applications used in the class:

  • Sentinel Driver.
    For using the USB or Parallel bitlock.

  • Microsoft .NET Framework.
    PC's prior to Widows XP may need this for the new 32-bit programs.

  • License Key Manager
    The program that holds the license key for the bitlock.

  • RPO License Key Install
    This will activate the programs once a Sentinel serial number is entered during the class.

    • Example cases for running in class

It is important that you let it install all the programs.

Once the programs have been installed, there will be various shortcut icons for each of them on the desktop. In addition, there will be an icon for "RPO License Key Install". This program will be used after you arrive at the class and are issued a Sentinel bitlock. You will type in the Serial Number from the bitlock and it will register your programs for use.
