Error -3 "No licenses are currently available."

Solution

This message occurs when trying to run a network version of one of the products.

This fix must be done by someone who has access rights to the License Server PC.

Programs like RODSTAR will not run if it cannot find a license even though the local PC has a SENTINEL.INI file that points to the License Server's IP address (see SENTINEL.INI issue).

The problem is that it can not find the license key file "10.l01" (ten point-ell-zero-one) in the Key Directory on the License Server. It is usually in the C:\Program Files\ThetaLM folder.

(Note: License key files for programs other than RODSTAR use other numbers for their names, like "20.l01", etc.)

  1. From the Control Panel on the License Server, run Theta LM Server icon.
  2. Click the Settings Button and see the "Key Directory".
  3. Go to File Manager and see if that is actually the directory where the "10.l01" file is located.
  4. If not, then Stop the license server, change the setting to point to the actual directory, and then Launch the license server.
