Course Description:
This two day course provides the students with a detailed understanding of the functionality of XSPOC and how to apply the software to optimize their rod pumping systems. The "hands on" training that uses real field data makes the experience are real as it gets. Several real field examples will also be presented that allow the student to diagnose and correct operational problems.
Two Day Course (for Users)
The two day course provides
the student with a full understanding
of the functionality of XSPOC, and how
to apply the software to optimizing
the operation of rod pumped systems,
optimizing the performance of pump-off
controllers, and maximizing production.
The student is given “hands on”
training with a demo XSPOC installation
that uses real field data and has full
capabilities (except for the ability
to communicate with wells). In addition,
examples with field data will be presented
that allow the student to diagnose and
correct operational problems.
One Day Course (for Administrators)
The one day course supplies
the student with the information to
successfully administer the XSPOC program
and database. Here, you will learn how
to customize the system to your needs,
schedule automatic printing of reports,
create links to Microsoft Access for
user-defined reports, set-up database
maintenance, and re-install and restore
the database. A good working knowledge
of XSPOC is required.
Who Should Attend?
Engineers, IT system administrators, production superintendents, foremen, field technicians, and lease operators. Participants must be familiar with Microsoft Windows.
Course Content:
- Introduction
An overview of how XSPOC works, explaining the various components and their function. - The Main Console
This part reviews the functions of the main window of XSClient, the user interface to the program, and how the Well Group Tree provides a unique and simplistic way to navigate by groups of wells and individual wells. - The Group Status Window
The group status screen allows users to view the current state of wells at a glance. This screen uses intuitive colors to draw attention to problem conditions. You will learn how to customize this screen and generate reports that prioritize the results by criteria you select. - The Card Viewer Window
One of XSPOC's most valuable screens, the card viewer collects, displays, and analyzes dynamometer cards. You learn how to collect new cards, analyze them and use the results for optimizing the pump-off controller.
Tuition Fees for 2007 Classes
User’s Two Day Course - $750.00
The above fee includes tuition, course manual, breakfast and lunch.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
A fee of $150 will be charged for cancellations less than 10 working days before a course begins. No refund will be made for cancellations received less than three working days before a course begins. Theta Oilfield Services reserves the right to cancel a course for insufficient enrollment. If this occurs, students will receive a full refund.
About the Instructor
Terry Treiberg is the Product Manager for the XSPOC product, responsible for all aspects of XSPOC development, sales, and support. He has been employed with Theta since 1999 and he is located in Theta's Bakersfield office. Prior to employment with Theta, he had over 12 years of employment with Shell Oil Company and its various subsidiaries. During this period, Terry worked as an engineer on various facilities and automation projects, including POC automation, injection management, and well testing processes. He is the original developer of the XSPOC product. Terry has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the S.D. School of Mines and Technology.
